- Lesson 1 – Introduction and Qualifications Overview
In this Lesson, you’ll be given information about how to study online effectively, as well as how to identify and use your unique learning style to support you.
We’ll also be looking at the ITIL Version 3 qualifications structure. This will allow you to understand how you can progress your ITIL education as part of your vocational training.
- Lesson 2 – Service Management as a Practice
You’ll be given information about the key concepts and definitions that you will need to understand to successfully complete the rest of the course.
We’ll be reviewing terms like ‘service’, ‘good practice’, and ‘service management’, defining what they mean within the context of ITIL Version 3.
- Lesson 3 – The Service Lifecycle
In Lesson 3, we’ll be looking at the five areas of the Service Lifecycle. The Service Lifecycle forms the core of ITIL Version 3.
You’ll also learn about the goal and objectives of each part of the lifecycle, as well as looking at the value they provide to the business. A great introduction.
In this Lesson, you’ll learn about some of the key roles that you need to understand as part of the Foundation Course. These roles include the Service Owner and the Process Owner.
We’ll also look at how the RACI model can be used to define roles and responsibilities associated with a particular task.
- Lesson 5 – Service Strategy
In Lesson 5, we’ll take a deeper dive with Service Strategy. Service Strategy is the central volume in the ITIL Version 3 Lifecycle.
We’ll review the key concepts and processes associated with Service Strategy, including the Service Portfolio, Financial Management and Demand Management.
- Lesson 6 – Service Design
Here we’ll be taking an in depth look at Service Design. We’ll look at the key processes that form Service Design, including Service Level Management, Service Catalogue Management, Supplier Management, Availability and Information Security Management.
- Lesson 7 – Service Transition
In this Lesson, we take an in depth look at Service Transition. Remember Service Transition exists to implement new or changed services into the live environment.
We’ll also be looking at key processes including Change Management, Service Asset and Configuration Management, and Release and Deployment Management.
- Lesson 8 – Service Operation
In Lesson 8, you’ll learn all about the processes and functions that need to be in place to successfully manage the live environment and day to day activities. The four processes we’ll look at are the Service Desk, Application Management, Technical Management and IT Operations Management.
You’ll also examine five processes – Incident Management, Request Fulfillment, Event Management, Problem Management and Access Management.
- Lesson 9 – Continual Service Improvement
Now you can explore the last of the five core elements of the Service Lifecycle – Continual Service Improvement. You’ll learn about the Deming Cycle, the CSI Model, and the 7 Step Improvement Process, as well as the importance of measurements and metrics.
- Lesson 10 – Technology and Architecture
To close out, you’ll study some generic Service Management Toolset requirements, as well as looking at how automation can make the management of Service Management processes more efficient.

Can I monitor how long I have left?

Do I get to keep my study guide?
Yes, your study guide and other supporting materials can be downloaded to your PC. It’s only the Video Tutorials that are not available to download – however you can of course watch these as many times as you like during your 30 or 60 days.
What happens at the end of 30/60 days?
Access to the course ends and is no longer available within your Dashboard. However, your Dashboard is still fully active and you can use it to access our free resources, mind maps, featured tutorials and reports. You can use your Dashboard again in the future when you decide to purchase your next ITIL V3 course.
How Do I Purchase and Schedule My Final Exam?
As you know, the final exam is not included as part of your course package – so this is something that you need to take care of separately.
